Jed and Mikala aren't just any sweethearts who stood in front of my camera. I’ve known these two for basically my whole life. To me, they’ll always be Aunt Mikala and Uncle Jed — the kind of family you’re lucky enough to choose and hang onto forever.

Photographing them felt like pressing pause on a love story that’s been unfolding for decades. Their connection? Effortless. Natural. Real. The way Jed still sneaks little smiles at Mikala when he thinks no one’s looking, and the way Mikala lights up when she’s around him... it’s the kind of love that reminds you what it's all about.

Fun fact: They are also saints for putting up with me. 😂 If you know me, you know I’m a world-class yapper — and thankfully, Jed and Mikala let me talk their ears off during the whole session (and still smiled through it!). Honestly, they’re as patient and kind as they are adorable together.
